AceShowbiz - On Tuesday, Damian Lewis stepped out with his girlfriend Alison Mosshart for a low-key date night at London's Chiltern Firehouse. The former "Homeland" actor, who has embraced a more casual style since meeting Mosshart, cut a relaxed figure in a blue shirt adorned with hearts, black jeans and white loafers. Mosshart, the lead singer of The Kills and The Dead Weather, wore a floral shirt and skinny jeans.
Their outing follows a series of public appearances together, including a romantic vacation in Saint-Tropez, where they were photographed sharing a kiss while swimming. The couple's relationship began in the summer of 2022, a year after the tragic passing of Lewis's wife Helen McCrory.
McCrory, known for her roles on "Peaky Blinders" and "Harry Potter", died of breast cancer in April 2021 at the age of 52. Her husband has since honored her memory in an emotional essay, describing her as "a brilliant person" with "kindness and generosity."
In the wake of his loss, Lewis has turned to music, releasing his debut album "Mission Creep" in June 2023. The album features several personal songs dedicated to his late wife, including "She Comes", which he says reflects his feelings of grief. "There are some personal songs on there," Lewis explained. "People will know about my late wife Helen. So there's some personal stuff there."
While Lewis has not publicly confirmed which songs are about McCrory, lyrics on "She Comes" seem to allude to his loss, "She comes as a blackbird, she comes as a fox. She sits at the window, she sings from a rock. She's the moon in the day and the sun that shines in the dark."
Lewis's music has provided him with solace and allowed him to express his emotions following McCrory's passing. His fans have embraced the album, finding comfort in its honest and heartfelt lyrics.
