While several social media users are happy to see the one half of musical duo Chloe x Halle exploring her music style, others candidly say that the music is below their expectation.

AceShowbiz - Chloe Bailey has surprised her devotees with a snippet of her new song titled "Boy Bye". The one half of musical duo Chloe x Halle garnered mixed responses shortly after sharing the teaser of the upcoming single.

On Monday, April 1, the 25-year-old singer/actress made use of her Instagram account to upload a never-before-seen video. In the clip, it could be seen that she was striking a number of poses while sitting down inside a car during a drive.

Chloe was sporting a casual ensemble, consisting of a sleeveless black top, which came with white embroideries on its front side, and a pair of matching sunglasses. She accessorized herself with a pair of silver earrings, matching necklace with a cross pendant and gold bracelet. In addition, her shoulder-length dark-colored tresses were braided and parted in the middle.

Chloe played the snippet in the background of the footage. In the recording, she could be heard singing, "Boy, bye, bye/ I won't even cry/ You stupid motherf**ker/ Boy, bye, bye/ I won't even cry/ Go back to your momma." Along with it, she offered more details about the upcoming song in the caption of the post, "Boy bye. pre-save link in bio." However, she did not reveal its release date.

After releasing the snippet, the sister of Halle Bailey received criticisms from a number of social media users. In the comments section of the post, one in particular wrote, "Chloe….i love you girl but the music has not been music'ing," adding an upset face emoji.

Similarly, another complained, "I've always loved Chloe and her voice. However, I'm not sure who's co-writing the lyrics cause it's just not as awesome as I'd hope. Like I want her to have hits, awards etc but it's like she hasn't met her match producing team yet." Meanwhile, a third suggested, "Can you do a song with less production? You're skilled af but I'm trying to hear you like we hear Adele," adding a crying face emoji.

A fourth, in the meantime, defended Chloe against critics, "Y'all do realize music is art and there's so much to explore and try , why do y'all try to box artist, she makes music based on her feelings at the moment lol."
