AceShowbiz - Celebrity fitness trainer Gunnar Peterson has revealed that his 4-year-old daughter, Monroe Vivian Peterson, has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Peterson shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram.

He explained that Monroe had initially experienced mild symptoms such as a cough, fever, and pallor. However, after his wife noticed unexplained bruising on her legs, they took her to the hospital.

"Fast forward 4 days," Peterson wrote. "White blood cell count KO'd. Platelets in the toilet. Hemoglobin number lower than a soccer game final. Hematocrit front row on the struggle bus."

As a result of these concerning lab results, Monroe is undergoing an intensive treatment protocol that includes transfusions, bone marrow biopsy, flow cytometry, spinal taps, and chemotherapy. She has also been designated as a Make-A-Wish candidate.

"AML leukemia. How the f*#! did we get here?!?!" Peterson exclaimed.

AML, according to the American Cancer Society, is a type of cancer that starts in the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow and can rapidly progress into the blood. It can spread to other organs, including the lymph nodes, liver, spleen, central nervous system, and testicles.

Peterson expressed unwavering support for his daughter, stating, "Our Warrior Princess will crush this! She has even said it herself!" He asked the public to keep Monroe and their family in their thoughts and prayers.

Celebrity friends and clients of Peterson have flooded the comment section with well wishes and prayers. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Jennifer Lopez are among those offering their support.

Peterson vowed to continue sharing updates on Monroe's condition while also providing fitness and health content on his social media pages. He concluded his post with the words, "Into the storm."
