AceShowbiz - There's still never-ending chatter surrounding Kelly Rowland drama during her supposed appearance on "Today". After it was said that the singer's decision to bolt from the show's set had something to do with Beyonce Knowles, a new report shut down the claims.
Sources with direct knowledge insisted to TMZ that Kelly didn't leave the set because she was being prepped with questions about her former Destiny's Child groupmate. The insiders claimed that the "Mea Culpa" actress arrived last Friday, February 16 just before 8 A.M while in full glam. Upon seeing her dressing room, she and her team complained about the room which was notoriously "dumpy, glorified closets."
Kelly and her team were allegedly "quite upset" about the situation and asked who occupied the dressing room upstairs. As the room was taken by Jennifer Lopez, the morning talk show's staff reportedly gave them a few options but the singer liked none of them. Eventually, Kelly and her team announced to the staff 7 minutes before air, "We're gonna leave."
The new report arrived after Daily Mail claimed that Kelly left the show after feeling disrespected by Savannah Guthrie. It was said that the co-host "aggressively" asked Kelly about Beyonce instead of Kelly's new movie "Mea Culpa".
"Kelly was offended that Savannah repeatedly and aggressively asked her about Beyonce," the insider told the outlet. "Kelly was upset about Savannah's aggressive questioning about Beyonce. She and her team were not happy and felt disrespected." Kelly and her team allegedly avoided an interview that involved questions about Beyonce and Destiny's Child as "she wants to leave that behind" and move on.
Savannah made the questions earlier that day, asking Kelly during their chat, "What do you think about your friend Beyonce?" To that, Kelly replied, "I'm so proud of her." The co-host also asked if Kelly was surprised by Beyonce's upcoming album "Renaissance Act II", to which Kelly said, "I'm so proud of her - so happy for her."
The source also noted that the dressing room had nothing to do with Kelly's decision to skip the show at the last minute. "The story was spun that Kelly didn't like her dressing room, but she has been on the 'Today' show numerous times, she and her team know the dressing room set up," the insider divulged. "That would not come as a surprise at all."
