AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey has given her reaction to Nick Cannon's claim about a potential reunion. The "All I Want for Christmas Is You" hitmaker didn't think that the host of "The Masked Singer" was being serious when he hinted that he is open to reuniting with her.
In a video published on Thursday, February 8 via X, formerly known as Twitter, the 54-year-old was documented offering her opinion on the 43-year-old multi-talented artist's statement. While making her way out of a building, she received a question from a paparazzo that read, "Would you ever be down in remarrying with Nick?"
In response, Mariah shockingly asked, "Remarrying?" She then stated, "I'm glad I… He's making this up. This is him being silly." She continued, "What is he? My last hope?" prompting the paparazzo and other photographers at the scene bursting into laughter.
Mariah was responding to Nick's recent remarks suggesting that there is a possibility of the two getting back together. He had a conversation about the potential reunion with Justin Sylvester from E! News for an interview published earlier that day. "I mean, you gotta ask her! Let me know what she say!" he stated.
Justin then let the TV host know that he is slated to meet Mariah "in a couple of weeks," before Nick replied, "Ask her, text me, we can talk through you." Nick further declared, "It's Valentines is in the air, you can be the chocolate cupid. Let's do it, I'm with it."
Mariah is currently single after ending her romantic relationship with her then-longtime partner Bryan Tanaka in 2023. As for Nick, he is not in a monogamous relationship and has welcomed ten children with five different women following their split.
Nick shares Golden Sagon, Rise Messiah Cannon and Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell, Beautiful Zeppelin, twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with Abby De La Rosa. He also has Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole, Halo Marie Cannon and the late Zen with Alyssa Scott as well as Legendary Love Cannon with Bre Tiesi.
Mariah and Nick tied the knot back in May 2008 after dating for less than two months. They welcomed their son Moroccan and daughter Monroe on April 30, 2011. Around three years after their twins were born, Nick revealed that he and Mariah have ended their marriage. The two finalized their divorce on November 2, 2016.
