The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his brother Jason Kelce appear to throw shade at the Green Bay Packers safety for failing to land a nomination at the 2024 PCAs while his wife did.

AceShowbiz - While he has been pretty occupied with his football practices and his dating life, Travis Kelce is apparently still keeping up with the news of another celebrity couple. The NFL star and his brother Jason Kelce have thrown a subtle jab at Simone Biles' husband Jonathan Owens following his controversial comment that he's the "catch" in the couple's relationship.

Travis and Jason appeared to mock Jonathan, who is a fellow football player, after the latter failed to score a nomination for Athlete of the Year at the 2024 People's Choice Awards. "How is Simone Biles on this but her boyfriend isn't?" Jason asked on their "New Heights" podcast, falsely referring to Jonathan as Simone's boyfriend while they're already married.

Travis, however, didn't seem to be surprised by the Green Bay Packers safety's exclusion from the category as he added sarcastically, "Owens? Played some good ball over there, I guess."

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end then proceeded to poke fun at his own nomination. "How am I on this?" he asked. He joked that he should not be nominated because all he did was hosting "Saturday Night Live", without mentioning her relationship with Taylor which may have helped him secure the nod.

Jonathan came under fire in late last year when discussing the beginning of his relationship with Simone. During an appearance on "The Pivot" podcast alongside his wife, he claimed he "didn't know who she was" back in 2020 when they first connected after matching on the Raya dating app.

Asked by co-host Channing Crowder how it was possible that he didn't know Simone considering her notoriety, the NFL star explained, "When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn't have NBC, we didn't have Olympics channels, and we were in [training] camp [in] late July, early August." He added, "So I'm not paying attention. I never would've had a moment where I would've watched [her compete]."

When the 28-year-old was asked whether he believes he is the catch in his relationship with Simone, he replied, "I always say that the men are the catch." He went on stressing that he "was fighting" against his natural feeling of being "afraid to commit" at that point in his life. "I'm like, 'It's kinda early.' But you know, it happens when you least expect it. When we hung out, we just hit it off instantly. Laughed the whole night," he said.

Despite the uproar following his comment, Simone has defended her husband in her social media posts.
