A spokesperson of the 73-year-old set the record straight on his relationship status through a statement shared on PEOPLE on Tuesday, January 9. This arrived just days after the comedian and "The Devil Wears Prada" actress were spotted looking cozy at the 2024 Golden Globes.
Meryl and Martin, who grew close while playing love interests on "Only Murders in the Building", were photographed looking quite comfortable with each other at the Sunday event. It prompted online users to assume that things turned romantic between the two.
One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Sitting with the knowledge that Meryl Streep and Martin Short might be in love but I have no proof." Another penned, "Meryl Streep & Martin Short allegedly dating is now my Roman Empire."
