The former White House Director of Strategic Communications shares she wants to get rid of at least 5lbs she has put on after taking the job as the producer jokes that its presenters regularly put on 15lbs.

AceShowbiz - Alyssa Farah Griffin says she's battling to shed some of the weight she's put on since joining "The View". The former White House Director of Strategic Communications permanently came onboard as co-host of the talk show in 2022 and has hinted she wants to get rid of at least 5lbs she has put on after taking the job, amid a joke its presenters regularly put on 15lbs.

The 34-year-old told "The View: Behind the Table" podcast about how she is determined to be "more dedicated in working out daily" as one of her New Year's resolutions. She said, "The show's weird, like (producer) Robin (Hommel-Tenenbaum) jokes there's like 'The View' 15. I did not have 'The View' 15, but I had like 'The View' 5, and I'm gonna work on shedding 'The View' 5."

Alyssa added her other New Year's resolutions included increasing her "health and wellness," which includes goals such as cracking down on the social media "doom scrolling" and being "more sustainable."

Alyssa's appearance became a hot topic last year when her 'The View' co-host Whoopi Goldberg stunned the former political strategist by asking during the show if she was pregnant. "The Color Purple" actress stopped mid-sentence during a broadcast in September before asking Alyssa if she was expecting.

Alyssa, who has been married to her husband Justin Griffin, 35, since 2021, leaned back from the table in surprise and exclaimed: "No! Oh, my God." She then laughed before adding, "You can't say that when my mother-in-law is here, who has been dying for me to get pregnant. Why? Do I look pregnant? Please tell me it's not my tummy."

Whoopi then added she did "look" like she was expecting a baby, adding, "I just got a vibe. I'm so sorry. Forgive me. I just… you have… I see a glow."
Alyssa said, "I'm very open to being pregnant soon. I am not blessed to be pregnant yet, but we are thinking about it. We're working on it. I'm pretty sure (I'm not.)"

Social media users slammed Whoopi's remarks as "inappropriate", with one saying online: "For reasons obvious and not-so-obvious, Whoopi should have kept her suspicion to herself and mentioned it to Alyssa Farah Griffin only in private."

Another added, "WTH……Now why would Whoopi embarrass Alyssa like that? Some things shouldn't be blurred out on live TV." Alyssa replaced Meghan McCain on "The View" after making a string of guest appearances on the series.
