AceShowbiz - Troye Sivan appeared to approve of Timothee Chalamet's impression of him on "Saturday Night Live". The "Angel Baby" hitmaker made use of his Instagram account to react to one skit in the Saturday, November 11 episode of the NBC comedy show which was hosted by the actor.
"WHY IS LIFE SO WEIRDDDDD RN LMAO IM DEAD," the Australian singer wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday alongside a video of the said skit. Troye also said in a TikTok video that "the only way to describe this was it was like a dream."
In the skit, Bowen Yang's doctor Yi tried to treat a distressed Sarah Sherman's Kayla in a sleep study. Kayla claimed that she couldn't sleep because she saw "some sort of figure with me in the room."
With a machine, Bowen's character successfully induced her hallucinations. Sarah then began describing the man that she was seeing. "It's just a guy, but like, a gay guy?!" Sarah shared, before Timothee's Troye quickly interjected by saying in an attempted Australian accent, "Not just any gay guy, homey. It's me, Troye Sivan! Let's go!"
Timothee, who copied Troye's curly blond hair and "Got Me Started" attire, then started awkwardly dancing to the song. At one point, he dropped his pants to show off his red panties, just like Troye did in the music video of the track.
Later, Timothee reassured Sarah's Kayla that he's not a sleep demon. "No, not quite, girly. I'm an Australian YouTube twink-turned-indie pop star and model-turned-HBO actor Troye Sivan being played by an American actor who can't do an Australian accent," the boyfriend of Kylie Jenner said in his normal voice.
Timothee's Troye then manifested more versions of himself after Sarah's character said that she's starting to enjoy the fake Troye's presence. Boygenius' Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, who served as the musical guest in the episode, then appeared in the same outfits with Timothee's. Phoebe said, "Hey homie, thanks for inviting us."
In addition to the Instagram and TikTok posts, Troye changed his Instagram profile picture to a photo of the "Call Me by Your Name" actor as him on the skit. The "Youth" singer also shared a photo of himself watching the segment on his laptop with a caption that read, "Pure Shock."
