AceShowbiz - YNW Melly was seemingly happy with how his double murder trial took a turn. In a video surfacing online, the "Mixed Personalities" rapper could be seen smiling after Judge John Murphy declared on Saturday, June 22 that it was ended in a mistrial.

For the record, the 24-year-old was in a Florida courtroom for the last three weeks. He's facing murder accusations for the deaths of his childhood friends Anthony D'Andre Williams (YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy).

The jury deliberations began after closing arguments ended on Thursday. The panel couldn't reach a decision on Friday, so the deliberations were continued on Saturday. However, the jury still failed to reach a unanimous verdict in the case, prompting Judge John Murphy to make the decision.

According to the Fully Informed Jury Association, the defendant is neither acquitted nor convicted if "a mistrial occurs due to a hung jury." The organization also stated, that "the prosecutor may decide to retry the case. A judge may decide to disallow this in some cases, but the prosecutor is usually allowed to proceed."

Melly, whose real name is Jamell Maurice Demons, has been accused of fatally shooting YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy in October 2018. He pleaded not guilty and faced a possible death sentence if convicted.

Melly's attempt in fighting for his freedom has left his mom Jamie Demons-King stressed. On June 19, Jamie announced on Instagram Story that she was quitting the platform after having a heart attack due to stress from her son's trial.

"I'm deleting the app. I can't be crying and making myself upset because of a lying clout chaser who won't show his face in court but care so much," she wrote at the time. "I had 1 heart attack already because of stress. I refuse to let this kill me I try to be peaceful and respectful to all of you. I pray for everyone because I know it's the right thing to do."
