AceShowbiz - Becky G has been added to the cast of upcoming DC movie "Blue Beetle". Two months before it hits theaters, the movie announced that it has recruited the singer/actress to lend her voice for a key role.

In a video posted on Becky and "Blue Beetle" movie's Instagram page, the 26-year-old shared the news. "I'm so excited to finally be able to share with you guys that I am officially a part of the 'Blue Beetle' familia," she said in the short video.

The "Mamiii" songstress added of her character, "I have the honor of playing the voice of Khaji-Da, who is an alien who decides to who she wants to give her superpowers, and when I say I could not be any more proud of what you guys are going to experience when watching this film, I mean that from the bottom of my heart."

She then introduced a new teaser for the film which features her voice as Khaji-Da, an alien symbiote that imbues and controls the Scarab. Jaime Reyes a.k.a. Blue Beetle, portrayed by Xolo Marideuna, is seen struggling to control his new superpowers as Khaji-Da's robotic voice is heard speaking to the host to the Scarab.

"The #BlueBeetle family just got a power up. Meet Khaji-Da, voiced by @iambeckyg Blue Beetle- Only in Theaters August 18," read a caption accompanying the video.

"Blue Beetle", based on DC Comics character of the same name, follows teenager Jaime Reyes who graduates from college and returns to his hometown Palmera City. He is then chosen to become a symbiotic host to the Scarab, an ancient alien biotechnological relic that grants him a powerful exoskeleton armor, turning him into the superhero Blue Beetle.

Directed by Angel Manuel Soto based on the script by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, the superhero film also stars Adriana Barraza, Damian Alcazar, Elpidia Carrillo, Bruna Marquezine, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon and George Lopez.
