After revealing her extreme diet on the 'Lipstick on the Rim' podcast, the 'Lizzie McGuire' alum is slammed by social media users for having 'the weirdest' eating habit.

AceShowbiz - Hilary Duff has found herself under fire. After revealing that she followed Gwyneth Paltrow's "starvation diet" on the "Lipstick on the Rim" podcast, the former "Lizzie McGuire" star was criticized by many due to "the weirdest" eating habit.

The backlash over the 35-year-old actress' diet came after the "Lipstick on the Rim" podcast's network Dear Media shared a TikTok video of her explaining her diet on Tuesday, May 9. "Sometimes I try to - you know, Gwyneth's in trouble for saying this - but sometimes I try to just drink coffee in the morning and starve off my hunger," she said in the video.

Upon watching the interview, the platform users could not help but candidly express their thoughts on Hilary's diet. One in particular wrote, "This new trend where rich white women share their eating disorder is the weirdest thing ever."

A second user chimed in, "I can't believe we're in 2023 and still not understanding that just eating real, unprocessed food most of the time is your best bet like I'm so tired." A third reminded others about food nutrients by saying, "We don't all do it, some of us eat FOOD bc hunger means our bodies need ENERGY via NUTRIENTS so we listen & give it what it needs."

The criticisms over Hilary's diet did not stop there. A fourth complained, "No we all don't do it! Do f**king better !!!! Starve off my hunger . People are legit struggling with ED and ye are starving off hunger !!!!" A fifth explained, "Intentionally putting off breakfast w/ coffee is nooot it. Let's not pretend that's ok." A sixth sarcastically stated, "Starving off your hunger with coffee? Acidic stuff in an empty stomach, just a great idea."

Similarly, a seventh user warned, "You shouldn't starve off your hunger! Never." An eight simply pointed out, "Big yikes," while a ninth expressed disappointment by saying, "Dang hil duff.. what a let down!" Meanwhile, a tenth gave a comment about clean food, "I hate when people describe food as 'clean' food is food."

Hilary faced criticism over her eating habit shortly after she spoke to Molly Sims about choosing to drink coffee when she got up feeling "really hungry" in the morning in the Tuesday, May 9 episode of the "Lipstick on the Rim'' podcast. In it, she declared, "Sometimes I try to - you know, Gwyneth's in trouble for saying this - but sometimes I try to just drink coffee in the morning and starve off my hunger."

Gwyneth herself faced her fair share of backlash after discussing her diet during an appearance on Dr. Will Cole's podcast "The Art of Being Well" earlier this year. In a March 13 episode, she stated, "I usually eat something about 12. And in the morning, I'll have some things that won't spike my blood sugar. So, I have coffee. But I really like soup for lunch. I have bone broth for lunch a lot the days… and then, for dinner, I try to eat, you know, according to Paleo. So, lots of vegetables. It's really important for me to support my detox."
