The Grammy-winning singer first teased the track, which samples Alice Deejay's 1998 classic 'Better Off Alone', on March 9 by sharing a TikTok video that showed someone walking in a dark locker room.

AceShowbiz - Kim Petras' collaboration single with Nicki Minaj is finally out. On Friday, April 21, the "Unholy" hitmaker unleashed the highly-anticipated joint single with the "Anaconda" hitmaker called "Alone".

In the chorus of the song, which samples Alice Deejay's 1998 classic "Better Off Alone", Kim laments, "I've been tryna give it to you all night/ What's it gonna take to get you all alone?" She continues, "I just want you here by my side/ I don't wanna be here, baby, on my own."

Nicki, meanwhile, spits in her own verse, "Kimmie bad/ Nicki ready, yes, we brag/ We throw jabs, b***h'll get dragged/ We be like, 'Gag,' call her Kim Petty." The femcee goes on, "When I r-ride it, I ride it steady/ Brand new Range, I just painted it Betty/ I set trends from Queens to Beijing/ I'm not the one that do the imitating."

On the reason why she samples Alice's "Better Off Alone", Kim explained to Apple Music, "I was born and raised in Germany, and that song is a classic in clubs all over Europe, so I grew up to it." She added, "I had a lot of amazing moments, some bad moments, so many club moments in general to that song."

"So that song is just in me, and I feel like it inspired me to make music," the 30-year-old, who won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Unholy" with Sam Smith, elaborted further. "I'm just so honored that Alice Deejay let us do this s**t because it's epic."

Kim first teased "Alone" on March 9. At that time, she shared a TikTok video that showed someone walking in a dark locker room. Later on March 15, she revealed a second snippet of the chorus.

"Alone" marks Kim's latest single. It follows previously-released tracks like last year's Max Martin-produced "If Jesus Was a Rockstar" and this year's "Brr".
