AceShowbiz - Despite their beef, Lamar Odom appears to believe that having Tristan Thompson in the Los Angeles Lakers is the right decision. In a new interview, Lamar weighed in on Tristan's surprise move to the California-based team and noted that it may be beneficial for the team.
Lamar noted that the Canadian star solidifies the Lakers' frontcourt and helps them win the NBA title. "He's played with [LeBron James]", Lamar told TMZ on Friday, April 14. "He's won a championship and L.A. is always the best place to play."
The former NBA star, who used to play seven seasons for the L.A. Lakers, went on to say that the main components to the team winning another title is LeBron and staying healthy. "God James. His name is God James. The god of basketball," Lamar said. "As long as we healthy, we're gonna win a championship."
The interview took place before Lakers went against the Memphis Grizzlies in a best-of-7 playoff series. Lakers eventually came out victorious as they beat Grizzlies with 128 - 111.
Lamar's positive words for Tristan comes as a surprise considering the two, who both dated Khloe Kardashian, used to shade each other. Last year, Lamar called Tristan "corny" after it was revealed that he fathered a child with another woman while he was still with "The Kardashians" star.
"It's too bad, but she's gonna be alright," Lamar said at the time of the Good American founder. "She's a strong girl."
When asked about what he would do if he crossed paths with her, Lamar replied, "First, I would give her a hug, I haven't seen her in a long time," he said, while adding that he would advise Khloe "be strong for her daughter [True]." Not stopping there, he blasted Tristan as saying, "dude is corny for that."
Meanwhile, Lamar wasn't the only one who showed support to Tristan's move to Lakers. Fans previously caught Khloe giving Tristan subtle support by liking an Instagram post about his transfer amid reports that they are getting back together romantically. Her social media activity seemingly suggested that the mom of two is happy now that the Canadian star is joining the team which is based in California, where she's residing.
