AceShowbiz - Becky G shared a cryptic during her set at the 2023 Coachella. During her performance, the "MAMIII" hitmaker talked about "redirection" amid rumors that her fiance Sebastian Lletget had cheated on her.
"Sometimes things don't go the way you plan, I'll just say that," the 26-year-old told the crowd. "But sometimes, it's not rejection - it's redirection."
Many assumed that Becky has called it quits with Sebastian. Fans also noticed that she ditched her engagement ring onstage as she did at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Becky and Sebastian started dating in 2016. The pair announced their engagement in December last year. "Our spot forever. [white heart emoji]," the "Shower" songstress wrote on Instagram at that time alongside three photos from their sunset proposal.
On March 27, however, Sebastian issued a public apology to Becky for what he called a "lapse in judgment," pushing boundaries of lines that "should never be crossed."
"Over the last several weeks, during a moment I regret deeply, a 10-minute lapse in judgment resulted in an extortion plot," he penned. "Since this person did not get what they wanted, it has now become a public social media spectacle filled with more lies than any truth and false posts aimed at the love of my life, the one person I should never take for granted or put at risk."
"I know that any actions that put us here should have never happened to begin with," the FC Dallas midfielder continued. "Pushing right up to the very boundaries that should never been crossed only hurts me and the people I love most."
Sebastian went on to note, "To Becky, you have been the light of my life, my strength, who has always shown me unconditional love." He further stated, "Instead of honoring that love every day, I have done the opposite, hurting you and disrespecting the one person that I love more than anything. I am so sorry and know I have to do whatever it takes to earn back the trust and love you deserve."
