Benzino Tried to Stop Coi Leray From Smoking Weed So She Could Be 'Better' Than Him

The 'Love an Hip Hop: Atlanta' star, who has had a rocky relationship with her femcee daughter, reveals in a new interview that she wanted to smoke some weed one time, but he had to steer her.

AceShowbiz - Benzino wants to make sure that he can be the father to his kids. In a new interview, the "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star revealed that he tried to stop Coi Leray from smoking weed so she could be "better" than him.

The 57-year-old opened up about his fatherhood journey in a sneak peek of "The G.O.A.T.s and Underdogs Podcast". He said his daughter wanted to smoke some weed one time, but he had to steer her.

"She's about 15, 16, essentially," the TV personality shared in the clip. "And she's smoking - I'm like, damn, I don't want her to smoke. So it's like, man, I don't wanna be the bad guy."

When one of the co-hosts Tamira Smith asked, "What age did you start smokin'?" he responded, "Thirteen." Co-host Ray Daniel then interjected, "But you want your kids to be better than you!"

Not defending himself, the former co-owner of The Source stated, "You're right." He went on to note, "It's called necessary hypocrisy."

Benzino and Coi's relationship has been rocky over the years as they had been involved in online back-and-forth. In April 2022, the "Players" hitmaker revealed that she tried to get her dad's Instagram account removed for the sake of his mental health.

When speaking on "The Cruz Show", Coi said she has contacted Instagram to delete her father's page amid their feud. "I try to report him! 'Cause he needs to know the 'off' button. He does not know the 'off' button," she told host J Cruz.

"And my dad doesn't understand, I love my dad, because family is everything. But blood don't make you family," Coi continued. "And when you start doing s**t that starts questioning your loyalty and who you are as a person, especially to your own daughter … I forgive. I have faith. That's why I'm still here and able to be like 'Yo, [that's] my father. I have faith.' "
