AceShowbiz - Ke Huy Quan doesn't let the best day of his life end in an instant. The actor, who won his first Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once" at the 2023 Academy Awards on Sunday night, March 12, crashed "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Monday night as he refused to sleep after his historic win.
Jimmy Kimmel was delivering his monologue, in which he addressed his Oscars hosting gig, when Quan suddenly came in to a thunderous applause and loud cheer from the audience. Still holding his tuxedo and his Oscar gong, he explained how he ended up in the studio, "I'm looking for my car."
A confused Kimmel asked, "Wait, are you still up from the Oscars last night?" to which the 51-year-old actor replied, "Aren't you?" He added, "I would never go to sleep, Jimmy. I can't let the best day of my life end!"
The "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" star told Kimmel that he was out all night with Cocaine Bear, who made a cameo alongside director Elizabeth Banks during the ceremony to present the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
Quan said he was headed to rapper Jay-Z's after-party next. "I think that's over now," Kimmel informed him. "Not for me, Jimmy," Quan replied. "Not for me."
Quan then asked to take one last of his signature awards season selfies with Kimmel and the audience. He jumped in excitement as he left the studio.
In his monologue, Kimmel likened the Oscars ceremony to "an upscale hurricane shelter." He explained, "Everybody's crowded together basically in an abandoned shopping mall. They cleared out the mall over there and everyone's there wearing donated clothes... most of them haven't eaten in days."
Still, he dubbed it a "perfect" night, noting, "No slaps, no mixed up envelopes, no Matt Damon. It was absolutely perfect." The comedian also joked about Tems' viral view-blocking dress. The singer/songwriter was nominated for co-writing "Lift Me Up" from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever". " 'Lift me up' is also what the people sitting behind her kept saying all night because they could not see anything that was going on," he quipped.
