AceShowbiz - Harry Styles has sent the Internet into a frenzy with his little social media mishap. The "As It Was" crooner successfully left his fans confused after he posted and deleted a photo of him wearing a One Direction T-shirt.
On Sunday, March 5, the 29-year-old pop superstar turned to his Instagram Story to share a mirror selfie that saw him wearing an old T-shirt from One Direction's "Up All Night" tour in 2012. The photo was seemingly taken from a gym as he's seen wearing short pants and a pair of yellow sneakers.
Interestingly, Harry took down the post less than a minute after he shared the snapshot. The gesture prompted fans to speculate that the post was "initially meant for the close friends story." One person commented on Twitter, "This was definetly [sic] not meant for us to see [laughing with tears emojis]." Another chimed in, "close friends were def supposed to see this."
"everyone knows that the photo was going to close friends but he made a mistake and posted it in the public," someone else noted. Others, meanwhile, declared that "harry's picture gave me hope for a one direction comeback."
The post came after Harry thanked One Direction during his BRIT Awards acceptance speech last month. At the time, the "Watermelon Sugar" hitmaker said, "I want to thank my mum for signing me up for 'The X Factor' without telling me - so I literally wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. I want to thank (One Direction's) Niall, Louis, Liam and Zayn because I wouldn't be here without all you lot, - thank you so much."
One Direction became one of the biggest groups of the 2010s after its five members, Harry, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, met as contestants on the reality television series "The X Factor" in 2010.
In March 2015, the band announced that Zayn was leaving the group. "After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year," the statement shared via Facebook read.
In August of that year, the four remaining members of the band announced that they would be taking an extended hiatus beginning in 2016. Before taking a step back, the group went on a final tour and released one last album, "Made in the A.M.". One Direction's last live performance as a band was at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on December 31, 2015. After the band dissolved, its members went on to pursue solo careers.
