The actor, who portrays Kang the Conquerer in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania', reveals he decided to abandon his first general meeting with the studio before landing the role.

AceShowbiz - Jonathan Majors' rise to stardom has perhaps culminated in his role in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania". While the 33-year-old has gained more spotlight with his role as the big baddie in the new superhero movie, he revealed that his Marvel career could've ended before it began after he walked out of his general meeting with the studio.

Majors shared the story in a new interview with Vanity Fair. Being cautious of the possible repercussion, he began recalling, "I hope this doesn't bite me in the ass, but I walked out of my Marvel general [meeting]."

The "Creed III" star said the meeting took place years before he landed the role of Kang the Conquerer. "This was a long time ago. I had just gotten out of drama school and I'm running around town and I'm sitting in the office," he shared, before explaining, "I grew up in a very particular way and I don't want to waste nobody's time. So I got in there and they're just busy. And I was like, 'I'm supposed to be here, right?' It got long and I went, 'I'm just going to go. It's cool. I'll just go.' "

Fortunately for Majors, the opportunity never slipped out of his hand as he continued his story, "And I got to the door, but then they said [casting director] Sarah Finn was going to come. We got in the room and we chatted. We were having this great conversation. I think it was three years later that we had the Kang chat."

Majors' role is expected to extend through several films as Kang becomes a primary antagonist for the studio's upcoming movies, including 2025's "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty". "There's no trepidation now, especially because of who Kang is," he said about being part of MCU. "When I said yes, we got the whole picture, and what is being laid out is cohesive."

Still, he realized his sudden stardom can bring discomfort to his life. "I don't bother nobody. I'm not interested in the f**kery of the industry…," he said, before praising his "Creed III" co-star Michael B. Jordan, "Michael is such a good example of a movie star because movie stars have to appeal to the bourgeois and the proletariat. Movie stars can show a film in Montana. Movie stars are dangerous to politicians. It's a different type of burden."
