In the cover story interview for Elle magazine March issue, the supermodel opens up that she and her sister Bella Hadid are in therapy to help them deal with modeling industry challenges and how pal Serena Williams has helped her.

AceShowbiz - Gigi Hadid has gotten candid about living under the spotlight and her mental health journey. The supermodel even broke down in tears when talking about fame and undergoing therapy in a new interview with Elle magazine.

In her cover story for the magazine’s March issue, the 27-year-old was asked what people wouldn’t know about her from reading headlines or social media posts. Suddenly, her eyes began to well up.

"I’m getting emotional [thinking about it]," Gigi replied. "I think that I’m someone who you have to be in front of to experience. It’s not hard. This isn’t a complaint. It’s more that in my job, you see a lot of snapshots."

As Gigi wiped away tears and excused the interviewer’s apology for making her cry, she continued, "No, it’s fine. Apparently, I needed to say it. There are a lot of snapshots and really quick moments where, again, there’s not a lot of context given."

Gigi later shared that she and her younger sister, Bella Hadid, are in therapy to help them deal with challenges of the modeling industry.

Elsewhere during the interview with Elle, Gigi also disclosed that one of her famous friends has given her advice about ignoring negative headlines. The Guest in Residence knitwear brand entrepreneur unveiled, "Serena Williams once told me, ‘Nothing stays in the press longer than three weeks.’ You can feel like your life is ending … [but] if it’s a mistake, then it will pass. I think it’s about not taking yourself that seriously and being like, ‘When I am on my deathbed, I’m not going to remember that one awkward interview from when I was 19.’ "

In the issue that hits newsstands on March 7, Gigi revealed that the COVID-19 lockdown and the birth of her daughter Khai gave her time to inspire Guest in Residence. "I got pregnant and I really started to think about what I wanted after, when the world opened back up. It kept coming back to just a more stabilized schedule where I'm not in a different country every week," she told the publication. "This is very stabilizing. I have an office that I come to. I know everyone here. I don't have to look a certain way to show up. It's a different experience for me, and it was the right time because I was ready for that."
