The 'Office' alum shares several photos from the set of 'A Quiet Place: Day One' as production begins on the Michael Sarnoski-directed movie, which is intended to be a prequel to the original film series.

AceShowbiz - Lupita Nyong'o is officially coming to "A Quiet Place" franchise as she has begun filming for the spin-off movie. Offering the first look at the Oscar-winning actress in "A Quiet Place: Day One", John Krasinski has taken to Instagram to share several photos from the set.

Krasinski, who starred in the first film and directed both the first film and its sequel, visited the set on the first day of production and took several snaps. Marking the production kick-off, he posted the pictures on Monday, February 6.

In one of the images, the "Jack Ryan" star was seen holding a clapper while he stood in a neighborhood that looks like Chinatown. Two other photos showed him having a conversation with director Michael Sarnoski, Nyong'o and a co-star, who may either be Alex Wolff or Joseph Quinn.

Nyong'o wore an oversized jacket with an orange beanie. Her male co-star, meanwhile, rocked a blue jacket and carried a large backpack while sporting thick facial hair.

"Requisite photo of slate on day 1… this time with a twist!" Krasinski captioned the images, which were reposted on the movie's official Instagram account. He added, "So honored to be there day 1 of @aquietplacemovie DAY ONE with the maestro Michael Sarnoski and legendary @lupitanyongo Cannot wait to see what magic they conjure in this one!"

Plot details of "A Quiet Place: Day One" are still kept under wraps, but it is intended to be a prequel to the original movie series. Its script is written by Jeff Nichols and Sarnoski, based on an original story by Krasinski. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce along with Krasinski via his Sunday Night banner. The spin-off film is set to bow on March 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, a "Quiet Place" threequel is also in development with Krasinski returning at the helm. The third film is expected to arrive sometime in 2025.
