AceShowbiz - "Sister Wives" stars Janelle Brown and Kody Brown officially split. After years of tension that led them to butt heads in season 17 of the TLC series, the former couple announced their separation on Sunday, December 11.

In a trailer for the upcoming TLC "Sister Wives: One-on-One" special hosted by Sukanya Krishnan, Janelle shares, "I think if we both really sat down we'd look at each other and say, 'Really?' We've been separated for several months."

As Sukanya looked surprised, she asked Kody separately. He confirms, "Yes, we are separated." She adds, "Janelle has made it pretty clear to me that she's enjoying her life without me."

"I never thought that I would ever be in a place where I would be questioning my relationship, but the last few years, I began to wonder if we're compatible anymore," Janelle adds.. "Maybe this doesn't work anymore for me. I don't know."

Later in the trailer, Kody's another ex-wife Christine Brown shares her insight into Kody and Janelle's relationship. "For Janelle, I think she's frustrated and she's so hurt and I think that man that she was married to, she realizes that he's totally different, but she's different too," she opines.

Janelle and Kody's tension peaks in this past season of "Sister Wives". In the show's season finale on Sunday, Kody declared a "civil war" within the family as he accused Janelle of betraying him and never siding with him when they had issues.

Janelle, meanwhile, called out her estranged husband for forcing her to choose between their children and him. Questioning her future with Kody, she went on saying, "I just think we've never had divides this deep. Christine has left, and that's obviously [a] very, very big departure for what our family has looked like for many years. This is like the ultimate test of our family. Can we hold it together with all of this?"
