AceShowbiz - Nia Long and Ime Udoka have gone their separate ways. The "Are We Done Yet?" actress and the former Boston Celtics head coach broke up after 13 years together following his cheating scandal.
Revealing the news was a representative for the 52-year-old actress. In a statement to PEOPLE, the rep said the two are "no longer together but remain fully committed to co-parenting their son [Kez]."
Ime allegedly cheated on Nia with the Celtics' team travel planner. She reportedly even helped Nia with the latter's arrangements to move to Boston permanently two weeks before the affair was leaked to the public. They were allegedly caught in the affair after the staffer's husband overheard a private conversation on a home doorbell camera.
Ime has since been suspended by the Boston Celtics for the entire 2022-23 NBA season for violations of the team's code of conduct. Following the team's decision, he said, "I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down... I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team's decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment."
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nia admitted that Ime's cheating scandal was "devastating" for their 11-year-old son Kez. "I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son's face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public," she said. "It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it's not easy for him."
"If you're in the business of protecting women - I'm sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I'm OK, to see if my children are OK," Nia, who is also a mother to 22-year-old Massai from a previous relationship with actor Massai Z. Dorsey, further revealed. "It's very disappointing."
