AceShowbiz - ABC News has taken Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes off the air after their alleged secret romance was exposed to public. ABC News' President Kim Godwin made the decision to temporarily bench the two "Good Morning America" anchors after their affair scandal has caused "internal and external distraction."

Godwin told staffers about the move during an internal call on Monday, December 5. "I am going to take Amy and T.J. off the air while we figure this out," she announced. "While the relationship is not a violation of company policy, I really have taken the last few days to think about and work through what I think is best for the ABC News organization."

Goodwin explained, "These decisions are not easy, they are not knee jerk, but they are necessary for the brand and for our priority which, you guys know, are all of is-the people here at ABC."

ABC's Gio Benitez and Stephanie Ramos will fill in for Robach and Holmes during their absence. On Monday, when hosting "GMA3", they told viewers that Robach and Holmes "had the day off."

Robach and Holmes' relationship was revealed in November after pictures of their meetings outside of work from the past several months made their rounds on the Internet. It was then reported that their relationship is consensual and that they have separated from their respective spouses in August, though they're believed to have started their romance in March.

Following the bombshell expose, Robach and Holmes returned to co-host "GMA3" on Thursday, December 1. They even joked about their affair expose in the Friday episode of the show. When Holmes jokingly said it's a "great week," Robach asked, "Is it?" Holmes added, "I just want this one to keep going and going and going. Just enjoying it." However, when he advised Amy to "take it all in," the "20/20" co-anchor replied, "Speak for yourself."
