Following the release of the first official trailer of the Sussexes' upcoming docuseries 'Harry and Meghan', the couple is accused of 'faking' press hounding in one scene of the trailer.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released the first official trailer of their highly anticipated docuseries "Harry & Meghan". The pair, however, are now hit with the allegations that they're "faking" press hounding in one scene of the trailer.
In the said trailer, which was dropped on Monday, December 5, there's one scene of a photographer taking a picture of the couple and their son Archie from a balcony at Archbishop Desmond Tutu's residence in South Africa back in 2019 while they were on an official tour. The trailer suggests the action as intrusive with Harry saying in voiceover, "There's leaking, but there's also planting of stories."
However, it has now been revealed that the snap was actually staged. The photographer was part of an accredited press pack at Archbishop Desmond Tutu's home, according to British royal correspondent Robert Jobson.
"This photograph used by @Netflix and Harry and Meghan to suggest intrusion by the press is a complete travesty," Robert tweeted on Monday. "It was taken from a accredited pool at Archbishop Tutu's residence in Cape Town. Only 3 people were in the accredited position. H & M agreed the position. I was there."
He then shared a photo of the former royals introducing their firstborn to Archbishop. "This shot by me from the same accredited pool position on my iPhone was taken at Archbishop Tutu's Cape Town residence," he explained. "There was no intrusion. I was part of a 3 person UK palace pool. Nobody else was allowed in and we shared the words and photos with the UK Media."
ITV royal editor Chris Ship, meanwhile, commented, "Here Robert Jobson makes a valid point. The filming of Archie at Archbishop Tutu's residence was highly controlled." He added, "And the ITN Productions camera filming the Sussexes' Africa documentary was there with their permission. It was not a media scrum. They spoke to Tom Bradby inside."
Prior to this, the 6-part docuseries received criticism after Netflix used a stock photo taken at an official "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" premiere for the show's first teaser. The Sun photographer Doug Seeburg, who is in the image, said there were no members of the royal family at the event which took place in 2011, 5 years before the prince and the former "Suits" actress met in 2016.
"Harry & Meghan" will premiere on Thursday, December 8 on Netflix.
