The former Destiny's Child singer shuts down the audience when the RnB crooner was booed after winning this year's Favorite Male RnB Artist award at the big event.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Rowland makes sure everyone knows that she's team Chris Brown. The former Destiny's Child singer showed support to the "Under the Influence" hitmaker at the 2022 American Music Awards which was held on Sunday, November 20 in Los Angeles.
After it was revealed that Chris won this year's Favorite Male R&B Artist award, people started getting upset and booed his victory. Kelly, who took the stage to present the award, quickly shut down the audience and defended Chris, who wasn't present at the award-giving event.
"Now, Chris Brown is not here tonight, so I'm accepting his award on his behalf," she shared before people started booing. Before things could go even worse, she put the audience in check and said, "Excuse me. Chill out."
She went on to say, "I want to tell Chris, thank you so much for making great R&B music, and I want to tell him, thank you for being an incredible performer. I'll take this award and bring it to you. I love you. Congratulations, and congratulations to all the nominees in this category." She later blew a kiss to the people who were booing before walking off stage.
Prior to this, Chris took to his social media account to slam AMAs for scrapping his Michael Jackson tribute performance for "unknown" reasons. In a video that he shared on Saturday, the R&B crooner was seen during rehearsal, performing his hit "Under the Influence" as well as some of MJ's songs like "Beat It", "Billie Jean", "Wanna Be Starting Something" and "Thriller".
In the caption, Breezy expressed his disappointment over the canceled gig. "U SERIOUS?" he wrote, adding in the comment section, "WOULD'VE been the AMA performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown."
Among those who were also enraged by the cancellation was JID, who wrote in the comment section, "[Let] Chris perform please [crying emoji]." Fellow singer Tank also chimed in by sharing a video on his own page. "We need a reason. You hire our brother Chris Brown. You sent him to rehearsals. He's creating one of the most epic performances ever and you canceled it. All the hardworking people, we wanna know why. We do. You hired him, you told him to get ready, prepared, and it's time, then you canceled. We wanna know why," the 46-year-old argued.
