AceShowbiz - Chris Brown couldn't hide his disappointment after this year's American Music Awards scrapped his Michael Jackson tribute performance. Claiming that the awards show canceled his gig for "unknown" reasons, the R&B crooner expressed his frustration online.

Making use of Instagram on Saturday, November 19, the 33-year-old shared a video of himself during rehearsals. In the clip, he was performing his hit "Under the Influence" as well as some of MJ's songs like "Beat It", "Billie Jean", "Wanna Be Starting Something" and "Thriller".

In the caption, CB wrote, "U SERIOUS?" He later added in the comment section, "WOULD’VE been the AMA performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown."

Among those reacting to CB's post was JID, who wrote in the comment section, "[Let] Chris perform please [crying emoji]." A fan then joined in, "We not even watching if Chris can't perform," while another added, "You shouldn't have asked CB to perform if you were just going to cancel like that."

Fellow singer Tank also inserted himself in the conversation by sharing a video on his own page. Calling out the AMAs, he argued, "We need a reason. You hire our brother Chris Brown. You sent him to rehearsals. He's creating one of the most epic performances ever and you canceled it."

"All the hardworking people, we wanna know why. We do. You hired him, you told him to get ready, prepared, and it's time, then you canceled," the 46-year-old continued. "We wanna know why."

The 2022 American Music Awards is set to take place on Sunday night. It will air on ABC live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles from 8 P.M. to 11 P.M. ET.
