AceShowbiz - Nick Lachey seemingly is taking a jab at his ex-wife Jessica Simpson. During season 3 reunion of "Love Is Blind" on Thursday, November 10, Nick gushed over his second marriage while speaking with contestant Matt Bolton.
Nick, who co-hosted the reunion special with wife Vanessa Lachey (Vanessa Minnillo), was seen fist-bumping Matt, who was married to his high school sweetheart before saying "I do" to Colleen Reed. "Marriage is always better the second time," Nick told Matt, who responded, "Cheers, bud."
Fans quickly slammed Nick for the unnecessary diss. "say what you will about love is blind season 3 but nick lachey did not have to bring jessica simpson into this," one person wrote on Twitter. Another user added, "Nick Lachey DID NOT just say 'hey marriage is always better the second time, right?' Oh my God."
Further dragging the 98 Degrees alum, a third user commented, "Nick Lachey bumping fists with Matt about his first marriage to Jessica Simpson did not sit well with me."
Nick was married to the "Dukes of Hazzard" star for nearly four years before calling it quits in 2006 due to "irreconcilable difference." They documented their tumultuous relationship on the MTV reality show "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica".
During the reunion, Nick also referred to the MTV show after contestant Cole Barnett expressed his regret for appearing on the show. "Coming from someone who did reality TV," Nick shared. "It's a powerful and very strange and very bizarre thing to see your life on screen."
Following his split from Jessica, Nick then moved on with Vanessa, whom he eventually married in 2011. They welcomed three children together, Camden (10), Phoenix (5) and Brooklyn (7). As for Jessica, she is happily married to her husband of eight years, former football player Eric Johnson (II), with whom she shares three children together.
