AceShowbiz - Kodak Black showed some love only to be criticized. The "Super Gremlin" rapper has been accused of being insensitive after sharing a photo of chicken and waffles to honor PnB Rock, who was fatally shot at the Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles restaurant in Inglewood, Los Angeles.
Kodak turned to his Instagram on Friday, September 30 to honor the late Philadelphia-born hip-hop artist with a meal from the same chain his friend was murdered in. Thinking it would be a fitting homage to his pal, the "ZEZE" emcee captioned his post, "LongLivePNB ! Good Chicken & Waffles -BET POWER UP #STILLBILL."
Fans were left upset by Kodak's post. "Ain't no way," one Instagram user commented, while another asked, "Wait what homie?" Someone else noted, "I don't even know how to feel about this," adding a pair of crying emojis. A separate person exclaimed, "WDYM BY THIS??? i don't understand the point of this."
Kodak's tribute came a little over three weeks after PnB Rock was involved in the tragic incident. Shortly after PnB's death, Kodak saluted PnB Rock and another late rapper comrade in XXXTENTACION by posting a photo of the two together. "SMH @pnbrock @xxxtentacion MY N***A @pnbrock ROCKIN THE SG CHAIN IN THIS PICTURE S**T KRAZY OUCHEA," the 25-year-old penned.
Kodak later blamed PnB Rock's girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang for PnB Rock's death as she posted an Instagram Story with details of their restaurant prior to the fatal shooting. Kodak even said Stephanie should commit suicide.
"Mannn I been low all day due to a headache I had earlier so Im jus getting to the news fr. Ion usually speak on deaths! Go to funerals or nun kuz life goes on but…SMH PNB was my boy I was jus OTP wit em last night!" he wrote in an Instagram Story. "We be talkin bout him comin back out & poppin his s**t again in this rap s**t. THAT H*E MIGHT AS WEL KILL HERSELF."
As for the shooting case, three people have been arrested and charged with the crime, including a 17-year-old who was reportedly named as the shooter. His father, Freddie Lee Trone, and stepmother, Shauntel Trone, have been designated as accomplices to the crime and its cover-up.
"The murder of Mr. Allen dimmed a bright light in the lives of his fans, friends and most importantly his family," District Attorney George Gascon stated. "The accused individuals' alleged actions in this case were heartless and cruel and robbed the world of Mr. Allen's talents."
"I thank the investigators who presented the case to my office," he added. "As we do every single day, we will work diligently to make sure that those responsible for taking the life of an innocent victim are held accountable."
