On August 19, the Hollywood star's now-estranged wife filed for a divorce, citing their union is 'irretrievably broken' and accusing her partner of hiding marital assets.

AceShowbiz - Possible reasons behind the end of Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin's 25-year marriage have been unveiled. If a new report is to be believed, the estranged wife of the actor filed for divorce after they had a fiery fight over their new dog.

TMZ reported on Wednesday, August 24 that the pair had a massive fight over their new Rottweiler weeks before the divorce filing. The 76-year-old actor reportedly wanted the pooch, whose name is Dwight, for "protection for their family." However, his spouse wasn't on board with adding another dog to the family. Instead of compromising, they "fiercely stuck to their positions."

The damning dog argument allegedly led to "an extremely heated argument that brought up other issues" in their marriage, although it didn't appear to be "marriage-enders" at the time. Unfortunately for both Jennifer and their marriage, the "Rocky Balboa" star won the argument and used the dog to promote his new show, "Tulsa King", by naming him after the name of his character.

"So incredibly happy with my newly acquired four legged friend 'DWIGHT' my characters [sic] name from the Series, keep punching and keep barking !!!" Sylvester wrote in an Instagram post announced earlier this month.

Jennifer filed to "dissolve" their 25-year marriage in Palm Beach County, Florida on August 19. The 54-year-old model claimed their union is "irretrievably broken." Jen, who first met her Hollywood star husband at a restaurant in Beverly Hills, California, in 1988, celebrated her silver wedding anniversary on social media earlier this year, also alleged that "The Expendables" actor "has engaged in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate."

"Pursuant to Section 61.075, Florida Statues, equity dictates that the Wife be compensated and made whole by receiving an unequal distribution of the marital assets in her favor," the motion continued. "Moreover, the Husband should be enjoined from, selling, transferring, assigning, encumbering, or dissipating any assets during the pendency of proceedings."

A few days before Jennifer filed for divorce, she posted a cryptic message on Instagram. Along with a photo of herself with her daughters Sistine, Sophia and Scarlet, she wrote, "These girls are my priority. Nothing else matters. The 4 of us forever."

Her daughters sang their mother's praise, clearly knowing their parents' marriage was over before the news hit the press. "You are our rock, cheerleader, and most incredible mom. We are so lucky to have you. Love you so much," Sophia commented. "Strongest woman I know," Sistine added. Meanwhile, her youngest daughter Scarlet dropped a simple love heart in the comment section.
