AceShowbiz - Trina and her family are suffering a devastating loss. It was reported that the "Here We Go" femcee's niece Toni Chester, who goes by Baby Suga, was fatally shot in Miami.
The incident took place on Tuesday night, July 19. Sources close to the female rapper told TMZ that Baby Suga "was in the wrong place at the wrong time" while visiting an area in Miami.
Baby Suga and two other women sustained gunshot wounds during the incident. The condition of the other two victims remains unknown. Law enforcement, meanwhile, is still investigating whether the attack was random or targeted.
Speaking about the 17-year-old's passing, a representative for Trina told the outlet, "We kindly ask that everyone please respect the privacy of Trina and her family at this devastating time."
Trina often posted about her niece on her social media. In May 2021, the musician celebrated the teen's 16th birthday by sharing a photo of the latter from her birthday shoot. "Happy birthday baby @bigsugggg I love youuuu. keep growing and shining your auntie has your complete back and front," she gushed at that time
The sad news arrived after Trina spoke to N.O.R.E. a.k.a. Noreaga and DJ EFN on "Drink Champs" last week. During the interview, she reflected on her career and dismissed the idea of another potential "Verzuz".
"I don't have the time," Trina said. "If I have nothing to do, I wasn't traveling, if I was sitting at home with my feet up, bored, not booked-oh it's a war. We could go at it. But I don't really have the time for that...I'm so busy making sure my bag is good and making sure everything around me is good and buying property and doing stuff that makes sense."
