AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift continues to keep people wondering about her relationship status with boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Amid rumors which said that the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer is engaged to the actor, the musician was seen ringless during an outing on Thursday, July 14.
In pictures obtained by Daily Mail, Taylor and Joe were spotted taking a casual stroll in London on Thursday morning, marking their first sighting after The Sun reported on June 30 that the lovebirds have been engaged for a few months. However, the new pictures saw the "Shake It Off" singer without her alleged engagement ring.
According the Sun, "The Favourite" actor popped the question to the "Blank Space" hitmaker months ago. The outlet claimed that the couple "only told" their inner circle about their engagement. "Basically immediate family, and trusted, very old friends," a source spilled. "Everyone has been sworn to secrecy, too."
The informant further said that Taylor only wears her "beautiful ring" in private, which may explain why the band was missing during her public outing. "Again, only a handful of people know details about the wedding and Taylor hasn't even told some of her team about the engagement," the source continued.
"They want their love to stay away from the cameras as much as possible. This is just for them. And if and when they do exchange vows, there most definitely won't be any Vogue, Rolling Stone or Hello! magazines there. It will be simple and elegant - like them," the informant went on to divulge.
Back in April, Joe addressed rumors that he secretly proposed to the award-winning star in his interview with WSJ. Magazine. "If I had a pound for every time I think I've been told I've been engaged, then I'd have a lot of pound coins," he responded coyly at the time. "I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn't say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn't say."
Ever since starting dating in 2017, Taylor and Joe have been keeping their life private and it will seemingly always be like that. Joe told Vogue back in 2018, "I'm aware people want to know about that side of things. I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people … but I really prefer to talk about work."
