The 'Easy on Me' hitmaker also assures her fans that she is 'working' on the delayed shows after revealing that she's heavily criticized for her decision to cancel it at the last minute.

AceShowbiz - Adele has let the world know that she made the right decision to cancel her Las Vegas residency at the last minute. Defending herself in a new interview, the "Easy on Me" hitmaker insisted that the show was not "good enough."

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs host Lauren Laverne on Sunday, July 3, the chart-topping singer explained that money wasn't the issue, it was simply because the show wasn't "good enough." She then said, "You can't buy me, you can't buy me for nothing. I'm not going to just do a show because I have to, or because people are going to be let down, or because we're going to lose loads of money."

"I definitely felt everyone's disappointment, and I was devastated, and I was frightened about letting them down," she told Lauren. "I thought I could pull it together and make it work, and I couldn't, and I stand by that decision."

Adele further revealed that she was mercilessly criticized for her decision after canceling the shows at the last minute in late January. "I was a shell of a person for a couple of months," she admitted. "I just had to wait it out and just grieve it, I guess, just grieve the shows and get over the guilt, but it was brutal."

As for the status of the show, the Grammy winner said, "Of course, I could be someone on TikTok or Instagram Live every day being like, 'I'm working on it.' " She later stressed, "Of course, I'm working on it! I'm not gonna update you if I ain't got nothing to update you with because that just leads to more disappointment."

Prior to this, Adele was heavily mocked by her fans for remaining silent on her postponed Las Vegas residency while revealing the lineup for her Hyde Park show. Shortly after sharing her excitement about her concert in London, her disgruntled fans were quick to take to the comments section to ask her about her Las Vegas residency, which has been hit by a string of delays.

"Are you kidding me? And you still are quiet about Vegas? I'm disappointed in you," one person commented with another fuming, "ARE YOU COMING TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT?" A separate Instagram user blasted, "Damn, Adele so I guess its f those that purchased tickets for Las Vegas." Another person stressed, "What about the Vegas shows? It has been months and no update!"

A source previously spilled that several of her residency team had been told to go home until September. The scheduled run is believed to be worth $150 million to the "Someone Like You" hitmaker.
