A journalist named Andrew Hornery claims in a piece for The Sydney Morning Herald that they gave Rebel a two-day deadline to provide a comment on her romance before she planned to announce it.

AceShowbiz - Rebel Wilson has reacted to a newspaper's attempt to "out" her before she even confirmed her new same sex-relationship. Despite finding it "hard," the "Senior Year" leading lady managed to keep her positive attitude.
Days after the 42-year-old went Instagram official with her girlfriend Ramona Agruma, The Sydney Morning Herald published an opinion piece by journalist Andrew Hornery. In the article, it's unveiled that they gave the comedienne a two-day deadline to provide a comment before they planned to announce it.
"It was an abundance of caution and respect that this media outlet emailed Rebel Wilson's representatives on Thursday morning, giving her two days to comment on her new relationship with another woman, LA leisure wear designer Ramona Agruma, before publishing a single word," Andrew penned. "Big mistake. Wilson opted to gazump the story."
Andrew has since come under fire. Among those criticizing the columnist was journalist Kate Doak. She tweeted, "So apparently it wasn't @RebelWilson's choice to come out... The @smh/@theage have admitted to giving her a heads up 2 days in advance that they were going to 'out' her."
Kate's tweet didn't go unnoticed by Rebel. In response, she noted, "Thanks for your comments, it was a very hard situation but trying to handle it with grace."
Rebel, who has been dating Ramona for six months went public with their romance on Thursday, June 9. Sharing a photo of the two, the "Pitch Perfect" actress gushed, "I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince... but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess."
One month prior to that, Rebel admitted that she is "happily in a relationship." She told hosts Jordana Abraham and Jared Fried, "I am now happily in a relationship… I met them at a friend's setup. I was on and off on the Raya app, but this was a friend setup."
