When discussing her hope for her upcoming children's book, the 'Troy' actress also opens up about getting empowered by the meaning of her name when she was younger.

AceShowbiz - Diane Kruger has been very private when it comes to her precious little girl. Three years after giving birth to her daughter, however, the "Troy" actress finally lifted the veil over her toddler's name and shared the meaning behind it.

While promoting her new children's book "A Name From the Sky", the Hollywood star revealed that her 3-year-old girl goes by the name of Nova Tennessee. To PEOPLE, she further explained, " 'Nova' in Latin means new beginning, and a nova star keeps changing and is reborn. And we love Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains; we do motorcycle trips there."

When talking about her experience as a mother, Diane came clean about what surprised her after giving birth. "How much I love it. I wanted to be a mom and I was sure I was going to like it, but just the magnitude of wanting to be there every second, not missing a thing," the 45-year-old actress divulged.

Diane was also amazed to be able to once again experience a lot of firsts. "So many things at my age, you've done a thousand times, but just seeing it through her eyes again. Whether it's having ice cream for the first time or seeing snow for the first time," she elaborated further, "There's just something so refreshing and simple about that life as mother and daughter that I've just found magnificent."

Elsewhere in the interview, Diane also touched on her journey of discovering the meaning behind her own name. The fiancee of Norman Reedus remembered having a hard time accepting her name since "Diane" was unusual in Germany. "I remember coming home crying because kids were making fun of my name," she recalled.

The "National Treasure" actress then discovered that she was actually named after a Roman goddess Diana. She recalled her own mother reading a book about it to her when she was young. "It truly changed my life," she gushed to the outlet, "And how I see myself today."

The discovery was what led Diane to come up with the children's book, which will be released on October 25. "I think as children, we suffer through things," she explained, "Whether that's a given name, or somebody says something mean to you. Everything is so up in the air. In time, your powers will come, and you don't have to worry. That kind of was the idea of the book."
