AceShowbiz - Valerie Bertinelli has filed for divorce from her husband Tom Vitale after they legally separated in November. The 62-year-old Food Network host filed the court records in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, May 12.

According to docs obtained by PEOPLE, Valerie cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the dissolution of their 10-year marriage. The docs also show that former couple has a premarital agreement that they will follow in the divorce.

The divorce filing comes after Valerie and Tom, who is a financial planner, became legally separated in November 2021. According to a report, Valerie asked for neither of them to get spousal support, during the filing for the separation. The prenup additionally showed that they agreed to split all assets.

Valerie and Tom got married in June 2011 after dating for several years. They were introduced to each other by the host/actress' brother Patrick.

"I could have spent the rest of my life with Tom and not be married, but I wanted to call him 'my husband,' " the "Hot in Cleveland" star told PEOPLE after the wedding in 2011. "I really wanted to share how I feel about Tom with the people I love."

Prior to marrying Tom, Valerie was married to Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007. They share son Wolf, who is now 31, together. In her memoir "Enough Already: Learning to Love the Way I Am Today", Valerie shared how she said goodbye to her "soulmate" Eddie before he died from lung cancer at age 65.

"We were portrayed as a mismatch. The bad boy rock star and America's sweetheart but privately, Ed wasn't the person people thought he was and neither was I," she wrote. " 'I love you' are the last words Ed says to Wolfie and me, and they are the last words we say to him before he stops breathing."
