The self-described 'relationship guru,' who boasted 1.43 million subscribers on YouTube, reportedly was found unresponsive at an apartment on East Paces Ferry Road NE, Atlanta on Thursday, May 5.

AceShowbiz - YouTuber Kevin Samuels has passed away at the age of 56. Rumors about his death began surfacing online on Thursday night, May 5, but it was not until one day later that his mother Beverly Samuels-Burch confirmed the sad news.

"That was a terrible thing for social media to put that out. I didn't even know. I hadn't even been notified," the grieving mom told NBC News in a phone call on Friday. "All I'm doing is requesting that people pray for us."

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers were called to an apartment on East Paces Ferry Road NE on Thursday morning "regarding a person injured." By the time they arrived, first responders were performing CPR on an unresponsive man whom later was identified as Kevin.

A woman in the apartment told cops that Kevin had complained about chest pain. However, once she tried to help him, he fell. Thus, the woman called 911 before the Internet personality was later admitted to Piedmont Hospital.

Kevin, who boasted 1.43 million subsribers on YouTube, described himself as a "relationship guru." He was known for his controversial dating and lifestyle advice. In April, he drew backlash for calling women who are over 35 and unmarried "leftovers."

"If you have made it to 35 and you are unmarried, you are a leftover woman," he said in a video. "You are what is left. Men know that there is something likely wrong with you - that you can not be an adjustable six or higher - 35 and unmarried. Something wrong with you. That's where men automatically coming at it."

While many disliked Kevin for his contents, he still found support from some of his viewers. One in particular was singer Tamar Braxton, who said she used to post his videos "all day every day to [her] friends" and she's now "devastated" that the YouTube star has gone.
