Nikolai Patrushev, head of the Russian federal police's Security Council, is said to be in charge while Vladimir Putin is undergoing the much-needed surgery, which has been postponed before.

AceShowbiz - Vladimir Putin is apparently so sick that he needs a surgery amid the ongoing war against Ukraine. The president of Russia reportedly will undergo a surgery for his alleged cancer in the near future.

The report is based on a scoop from the mysterious Telegram channel General SVR, which says its source is a well-placed figure in the Kremlin. The same channel reported that Putin has abdominal cancer and Parkinson's 18 months ago.

Citing the channel, Daily Mail and the New York Post report that Putin will transfer control of Russia's government to Nikolai Patrushev, head of the Russian federal police's Security Council, while he's undergoing the surgery.

"Putin is unlikely to agree to hand over power for a longer period of time," according to the unconfirmed report, noting that the control of the country will likely be in Patrushev's hands for no more than two to three days.

"I will say that this is the worst option," the narrator of the video adds. "Patrushev is an outright villain. He is no better than Vladimir Putin. Moreover, he is a more cunning, and I would say, more insidious person than Vladimir Putin. If he comes to power, Russians' problems will only multiply."

"Viktor Mikhailovich" ominously hinted that he and his allies "will make certain efforts so this does not happen, and I hope we will succeed," the report adds.

As for the surgery, Putin has reportedly agreed to do it, but the date is still being discussed. The source, supposedly an anonymous former high-ranking Kremlin military figure, says, "Putin has discussed that he will be undergoing medical procedures."

It is believed that the surgery will not take place before the Victory Day commemoration of Russia's World War Two victory in Red Square on May 9. According to SVR, the surgery had been scheduled for the second half of April but was delayed.

"There seems to be no particular urgency, but it cannot be delayed either," the source states. "'The Russian President Vladimir Putin has oncology, and the latest problems identified during [his latest] examination are associated with this disease."

He also suffers from "Parkinson's disease and schizoaffective disorder," which carries symptoms of schizophrenia including hallucinations and mania, according to the source. The source goes on sharing, "I don't know for exactly how long [he will be incapacitated after the surgery]… I think it'll be for a short time."

Exiled Russian journalists recently suggested Putin has thyroid cancer.

Meanwhile, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the news about Putin's alleged medical issue could not be confirmed. "I have seen nothing that could help us corroborate that," he said on Monday, May 2.
