Aariel Maynor has been sentenced to three life terms in prison with a minimum of 150 years to life behind bars after it's revealed that he bragged about his crime to friends over the phone from jail.

AceShowbiz - Aariel Maynor has been sentenced to life behind bars for murdering Jacqueline Avant. The suspect in the fatal shooting of the music industry legend Clarence Avant's wife was sentenced to over 150 years in jail.

The 30-year-old assailant received the sentence of three life terms in prison with a minimum of 150 years in Los Angeles County court on Tuesday, April 19. According to the sentencing document, he "essentially" laughed to his friends about the killing and the publicity during two separate phone calls from the jail.

During Tuesday's trial, Deputy District Attorney Victor Avila said the December 1, 2021 break-in was "premeditated," and that Aariel, who appeared in court in a wheelchair, "researched" Clarence's name online before the 2:30 A.M. home invasion and hoped to make off with valuable belongings with the planned heist. "He shot a completely vulnerable victim, 81 years old, no match for him, and she was caught by surprise," Judge Kathryn Solorzano said before announcing the sentence.

"And then he left [Jacqueline] there and compounded the issue by firing multiple rounds at the unarmed security guard," Judge Kathryn further remarked, referring to the attempted murder charge for shooting at the night watchmen. The judge also brought up the "extensive criminal record" of Aariel, who was on parole at the time of his arrest, during the proceedings.

Last month, Aariel agreed to plead guilty to murdering Jacqueline. At the time, he also pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of Clarence and Jacqueline's security guard and to carrying a firearm as a felon.

Aariel, who brought an AR-15 style weapon during the home invasion, allegedly shot Jacqueline's head after he came face-to-face with her. According to Jacqueline's family, Aariel and Jacqueline stunned each other when he broke into her $7 million Beverly Hills house. "Jacqueline is often awake after 2 A.M. and the night of the break-in was most likely no different," her family members said, adding that her husband Clarence was asleep in their bedroom.

Aariel raced inside the home after the guard chased him following the gunshot. He later shot the security before fleeing the scene. Following police's arrival, Jacqueline was immediately taken to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

On December 2 around 3:30 A.M., Aariel was arrested after police officers responded to a burglary call in Jacqueline's neighborhood area. At the time, Aariel, who attempted another robbery after the burglary at Jacqueline's mansion failed, allegedly shot himself in the foot by accident. He was taken into jail after he was medically cleared by doctors.
