AceShowbiz - Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion joined forces to bring back memories at the 2022 Grammys. The two musicians, who were tapped to present the best new artist at the biggest night in music industry, recreated the iconic moment involving Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey at the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards.

Just like Whitney and Mariah, the "Sweetest Pie" collaborators took the stage to present the trophy in matching outfits as they both rocked black and gold ensembles by Donatella Versace. "You stole my look!" Megan said. Dua then replied, "Well, I was told I had the exclusive. I'm going to have to have a talk with Donatella."

Donatella then stepped onto the stage. The designer ripped off fabric from the skirt, revealing two distinct looks which went just like what happened to Whitney and Mariah more than 20 years ago. Donatella declared, "These are my girls!"

In the original clip of the two legendary singers, they could be seen being caught in surprise when they found out that they donned a matching gown while presenting best male video. After a short banter, they then ripped off the top layer of the gown to reveal two distinct minidresses. "You look good!" the two raved to each other.

Mariah apparently caught wind of the tribute. Replying to a tweet, the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" hitmaker wrote, "Try it on me!!!! Love you and miss you Queen."

Back to the 2022 Grammys, Megan was nominated for best rap performance for "Thot S**t". Last year, the Hot Girl Summer won four Grammys, including best new artist, best rap song, best record and best rap performance, the latter of which she shared with Beyonce Knowles. As for Dua, the "Levitating" hitmaker nabbed the best pop vocal album award for "Future Nostalgia" last year.

"Sweetest Pie" marks the first musical collaboration of the two stars. "I be seeing everybody making mashups of me and Dua songs, and I'm like, 'No, this sounds too good. We have to make a song,' " Megan previously told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1.

"I was like, 'Dua, I really want us to do a song, but I got to find that right beat. It has to be perfect.' So I didn't just send her no any track," she added. "I waited till I had the perfect one and I feel like we both came to a mutual agreement that it was greatness - and now we got 'Sweetest Pie.' "
