Keke Palmer was among the stars who celebrated April Fool's Day. However, instead of making people laugh with her joke, the "Akeelah and the Bee" actress left them upset because she made a pregnancy prank.
On Friday, April 1, the 28-year-old became trending on Twitter after she shared a photo of herself showing off her tummy. Alongside the picture, she wrote, "I've officially joined the summer MOM club."
It didn't take long for Keke to set the record straight. "I don't lie.. But I do tell JOKES! Haha Happy April Fool's Day y'all, I know most of y'all wouldn't believe me,"she explained. "I will be a mom one day and me and the baby both gon' be silly as hell together hahaha."
Many were not amused by Keke's joke, though. Slamming the "Alice" leading lady, one Instagram user argued, "i always automatically disregard anyone announcing they're pregnant on april 1st." Another individual commented, "Honestly this joke is so played out it's not even funny no more.."
A disappointed fan opined, "I love Keke down... but pregnancy pranks will never ever be funny..." One person echoed the sentiment, "A lot of people suffer from infertility and miscarriages, it's never funny." Someone else shouted, "Lame. Pregnancy pranks at our 'big age' is LAME!"
Also making a pregnancy announcement on Friday was comedienne Tiffany Haddish. Taking to Instagram, she shared a couple of pictures of an ultrasound. "I am so excited to announce something special is on the way today #sheready @sneakababypeek4d," she penned in the accompanying message.
While many assumed that it's a part of April Fools' jokes, others believed that the "Girls Trip" is indeed having a bun in the oven. Fellow actress Mindy Kaling gushed in the comment section, "Omg I'm so excited for you!!" Singer Nicole Scherzinger raved, "CONGRATULATIONS MAMA!!! Literally!!!"
Tiffany has yet to clarify her post.
