AceShowbiz - "House of the Dragon" will arrive soon on HBO. On Wednesday, March 30, it was announced that the "Game of Thrones" prequel series will premiere on August 21 on HBO and HBO Max.

"August 21. #HouseofDragon," the official Instagram account of HBO Max wrote. It also posted a picture of a big Dragon egg which seems to be in flames.

Fans were beyond excited over the announcement. "OH MY GODDD ITS HAPPENINGGGGGG," one fan commented. "LET'S GOOOOOO," someone else added.

Another fan wanted more as the person begged, "TRAILER PLEASE." Meanwhile, another was disappointed as they thought that the new series was going to premiere next month.

"House of the Dragon" will follow the story of the Targaryen civil war that took place about 300 years before events on Emmy-winning series "Game of Thrones". Created by Ryan J. Condal and George R.R. Martin, the series is based on George R.R. Martin's "Fire & Blood" with Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal serve as showrunners with Martin serving as executive producer. "

"A once powerful knight and a successful military background, so a man with presence and status. Given the responsibility to the king to watch over and guard the princess," an official description of the show reads. The 10-part episode series stars Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Paddy Considine as King Viserys, Emmy D'arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Eve Best as Rhaenys Velaryon and Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon a.k.a. the Lord of the island of Driftmark.
