In a statement released two months after her passing, her family reveals that the 25-year-old struggled with mental illness from a young age and was under the influence of narcotics at the time of her death.

AceShowbiz - Chris Daughtry's daughter Hannah Price's cause of death has been confirmed, two months after her passing. In a statement released by her family on Wednesday, January 19, the singer and his wife Deanna Daughtry revealed that his stepdaughter died from suicide by hanging while under the influence of narcotics.

"Our beloved Daughter Hannah Price passed away on November 12th, 2021," the statement opened. "Much speculation has been made since that date, and after a full investigation by law enforcement we are now able to speak in further detail."

Chris and Deanna said Hannah "struggled with mental illness and was in and out of therapy and treatment centers" from a young age. They explained, "As Hannah got older, she struggled to find her footing and began using drugs and often found herself in abusive relationships."

The family continued, "Just months after losing her biological father to suicide, Hannah was the victim of a crime and was shot in the face. We did everything we could to support her and get her the help she needed to recover from these tragedies and get her life back on track. We had just recently made plans with Hannah for her to seek further treatment and move closer to the family."

On the morning of her death, Hannah contacted her family members and told them she "was in fear for her life" after her boyfriend allegedly physically abused her and took her car, according to the statement. The Daughtrys said they immediately called the Fentress County Police Department to perform a wellness check. Police did visit Hannah at her Tennessee home and left without incident after speaking to her and determining that she was "OK" just before 1 P.M.

Later that day, Hannah was found hanging by her boyfriend, who then called 911, per the statement. She was pronounced dead at the scene. "After a thorough investigation by Fentress County DA, Fentress County Sheriff Office and the Knoxville Medical Examiners Office, they have determined her official cause of death as suicide by hanging while under the influence of Narcotics," the Daughtrys said. "It has been determined that there is no evidence of foul play."

"Hannah was a generous and loving person who wanted more for herself and others. She will forever be in the hearts and minds of those of us who love her," the family remembered her. "We ask for your continued privacy at this time while we grieve. If you or a loved one is experiencing mental health, abuse, or addiction problems, please seek help immediately. Though initial rumors indicated her death was being investigated as a homicide, Deanna later clarified that the rumors were "false." She said in an Instagram post at the time, "We were not told that and never said that to anyone! The day Hannah was found I shared some concerns I had with some [people] I know and said we won't know anything for sure till after they complete the investigation."

Chris, meanwhile, said he was "absolutely devastated and heartbroken" by the tragic loss. In a November 13 post, he lamented that they didn't get a chance to say goodbye to Hannah. "I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately," the DAUGHTRY frontman wrote.

"We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it's another huge hit to our family," he added. "Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply."
