Amid the scandal, he got into a single-car accident near his home. Several days later, he released a statement, admitting to multiple infidelities and apologizing to "all of those who have supported [him] over the years." He also announced that he would be taking "an indefinite break from professional golf."
More than a dozen of women later claimed in various media outlets to have had an affair with the pro golfer. After news of his adultery broke, Elin reportedly kicked Tiger out of their house and their divorce was finalized in the following year.
