AceShowbiz - Kanye West may have a hidden agenda behind his ultra sweet gesture to Julia Fox during one of their first dates. An expert has weighed in after the rapper surprised the actress with tons of new clothes post-their Broadway date in New York City.

While the "Uncut Gems" star was clearly flattered by his act, the "Gold Digger" spitter's lavish gifts could be a red flag. According to Ramani Durvasula, a clinical psychologist and narcissism expert, the act of giving luxury items is one of the things that love-bombers usually do, in addition to making a declaration of love after only a few dates, constant texting and making plans for the future.

Ramani told Insider that this could be a sign a new lover is "trying to manipulate you." She explained, "A narcissistic relationship often starts as too much too fast - this is then followed by a cycle of devaluing, discarding, and ups and downs."

Often, love-bombers cool off or ghost completely once they're satisfied that they've lured their new partner in. This ends up leaving the new partner feeling confused and manipulated.

Therapist Claire Stott previously said, "A good relationship, I think, is a slow burner." She continued, "It's not necessarily one that's going to be super intense at the beginning. It's one that's going to gradually build as you get to know each other."

Julia opened up about her new romance with Kanye to Interview, which also published the pair's steamy PDA pictures. "I met Ye in Miami on New Year's Eve and it was an instant connection," she said. "His energy is so fun to be around. He had me and my friends laughing, dancing, and smiling all night."

After hitting it off in Miami, they "decided to keep the energy going and fly back to New York City to see 'Slave Play'," so the 31-year-old actress said. She continued, "After dinner Ye had a surprise for me. I mean, I'm still in shock. Ye had an entire hotel suite full of clothes. It was every girl's dream come true. It felt like a real Cinderella moment."

Julia went on gushing about her connection with Ye, "Everything with us has been so organic." She added, "I don't know where things are headed but if this is any indication of the future I'm loving the ride."

A source, meanwhile, tells PEOPLE that Kanye treats Julia as "kind of like his muse." The source dishes on the couple, "He loves her smile and attitude." As for the Italian-born beauty, "she is intrigued by Kanye," says the source. "She is flattered by the attention and goes along with his ideas. This is why he likes her."
