Defending her husband against backlash over his post of her postpartum figure in bikini, the 'American Idol' alum says she can't stand with 'this overly sensitive society.'

AceShowbiz - It's Katharine McPhee's turn to play her role as a supportive wife. After David Foster came under fire over his Instagram post of her post-baby bikini body, the singer/actress has spoken up in defense of her husband.

Taking to her own social media page on Wednesday, December 29, the mother of one fired back at haters who criticized the musician for his gushing comment on her photo. She called the criticism "dumb," writing, "ok the press around my husbands photo he posted of me is so dumb…"

Katharine assured that she's completely healthy as she shared how she regained her pre-baby body back, "so I hope this photo helps lol I'm sorry but we are not sorry. And for all of you who can't deal with it maybe this helps. I've struggled with weight my whole 20s and 30. I've gone up and down 10 times over. Does that make you feel better? There is nothing wrong with that -most people do."

"I lost this baby weight without dieting. Zero," she stressed. "Diets are the worst and I've had zero pressure from anyone. I've let me body do its thing and found a great workout. That's it. And guess what? I'll probably gain weight again at some point too. Who cares?"

She went on addressing the backlash aimed at David, "BUT people freaking out about what my husband captioned seriously get a life..." To those haters, the 37-year-old sent a message, "Stop being so offended by what people post who have zero impact on your life and move on. Maybe you should have more of an attitude of like, let's say… 'oh that's nice he thinks his wife is hot.' I cannot with this overly sensitive society right now. But as Taylor Swift said haters gonna hate byyeeee."

David previously landed in hot water after he bragged about Katharine's stunning postpartum body. Posting a picture of his wife flaunting her slim figure in a black bikini, he captioned it, "what baby!"

Many social media users took issue with his remark, especially considering that the "Smash" alum has opened up about her struggle with eating disorder in the past. "I get what you're saying… but this is a very unhealthy post. Not cool at all," one person reacted to the post. Another reminded the former husband of Yolanda Hadid, "Doesn't She have a history of anorexia? Not healthy to focus on the body versus the soul."

Others blasted the Grammy Award-winning artist for putting the pressure on women to get back in shape after giving birth. Someone sarcastically said, "Yeah, let's perpetuate the unhealthy narrative that women need to be back to or smaller than their pre-pregnancy size postpartum." Another echoed the sentiment as saying, "A mother's body is a badge of honour all the stretch marks all the bumps, all the curves. Women are not just the sun of our attractiveness or body shape. Sad."

David himself has not responded to the criticism.
