AceShowbiz - Josh Duggar apparently had a lonely Christmas. The former "19 Kids and Counting" star, who remains in solitary confinement, had to spend the holiday season solo behind bars as he's "left out" of the jail's Christmas festivities.
A source at the Washington County Detention Center in Arkansas informed The Sun on Saturday, December 25 that the 33-year-old reality star was able to enjoy a special holiday dinner from his cell. "It's going to be turkey and gravy, candied carrots, mashed potatoes, a roll with margarine and a spice cake. The beverage will be a fortified drink mix," the source told the outlet about the Christmas dinner.
Since Josh is in solitary, he had to enjoy his meal by himself instead of with his fellow inmates. "People in solitary do not get to eat with others," the insider explained. "They get served alone in their cell, but they get the same food everyone else does."
Josh was placed in solitary confinement for safety reasons on December 10 after a judge convicted the disgraced star of two counts of possessing and receiving CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) following his arrest in April 2021. A source explained that the TLC alum has his own small cell and is away from other criminals.
"Josh is cordoned off from the general population," an insider from the jail shared. "He is in a holding cell by himself. We do this for every sex offender. We are holding him separately for his own safety."
Aside from being in solitary, Josh is not allowed to have "conjugal visits" from his wife of 13 years, Anna Duggar, while being locked up in prison. Their physical contact is limited to "handshakes, hugs, and kisses [in good taste]...at the beginning and end of a visit."
Following his guilty verdict, Judge Timothy L. Brooks advised the court that his arrest is "mandatory." On the reason why, the judge explained, "Mr. Duggar 100 percent has been compliant awaiting trial. I appreciate that, and I wanted to acknowledge that. However, because of the guilty offense, he must be detained regardless of flight risk, so there will be a mandatory detention. The marshalls will set that up."
