Mary addresses her 'derogatory' comments on Jen which lands her in hot water after being compared to the latter, who was arrested for alleged telemarketing scheme.

AceShowbiz - Mary Cosby issued an apology to her "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" co-star Jen Shah ahead of the show's Sunday, December 12 episode. Taking to her Instagram account, Mary addressed her comments on Jen which landed her in hot water.

"I would like to take this opportunity to address a comment I made on the last episode of RHOSLC. I used poor judgment in my choice of words," Mary wrote on Sunday. "Please accept my apologies. I was not trying to single out the Mexican culture."

The 49-year-old Bravo personality went on to say, "I am African American and I know racism firsthand. I've lived it daily my entire life. It is important to me that you hear this apology directly from me. My comment was reckless. Unintentional. I am truly sorry!"

Captioning her message, Mary wrote, "I love you all!" She additionallly included multiple hashtags such as #apology, #apologyaccepted, #makeitright, #love, #latinos, #loveyouall and #saltlakecity.

The said comments were made in the December 5 episode of the reality show series. In the outing, Mary was upset after Lisa Barlow informed her that the other ladies were comparing allegations made about Mary's church to Jen's alleged involvement in a telemarketing scheme. "It's not fair to put me with someone so … like, when I think about Jen, I see heartless, I see a thug," Mary said. "Like, you know, those Mexican people that make all those drugs."

Fans quickly slammed Mary for her remarks as one Twitter user wrote, "Mary's derogatory comments on last night's #RHOSLC are indefensible." Another person tweeted, "As much as I enjoyed last night's iconic ep. of #RHOSLC, my enjoyment was put on pause as soon as Mary compared Jen to a 'thug, those Mexican people that make all those drugs' and by fat shaming Heather. It was massively disappointing."

As for Lisa, she defended herself after someone on Twitter called her out for not criticizing Mary for her remarks. "She should be ashamed. I didn't say it and am not aligned with this. I address it. Keep watching," the Vida Tequila owner wrote on the blue bird app after the December 5 episode.
