AceShowbiz - In a raw and emotional revelation on "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City", Mary Cosby confides in Angie Katsanevas about the ongoing struggles she faces with her son Robert Jr.'s addiction.
Mary's anguish stems from Robert's admission of using drugs, including heroin, Xanax, and acid. She recalls him confiding, "At some point, I felt like it almost became an addiction." To Mary's dismay, she admits, "I said, 'Not almost.'"
Beyond the narcotics, Mary is devastated by Robert's feelings of worthlessness. He confessed, "Mom, at one point, I didn't want to live." Reflecting on these heartbreaking words, Mary questions her role as a mother. "What did I miss? Where did I not secure him?" she wonders.
Angie attempts to comfort Mary, assuring her that she did "all the right things." However, Mary feels responsible for her son's suffering. "It's hard, it's really hard," she confesses. "As a parent, you feel like you failed."
Despite her grief, Mary remains determined to support Robert. She shares, "It's my responsibility if he comes to me and he says he wants help, it's my responsibility to make sure he gets it."
Mary has since revealed that Robert Jr. has entered a drug rehabilitation program and is "doing so good." Her story highlights the challenges of parenting a child with addiction and the importance of seeking support and holding onto hope.
