AceShowbiz - Common opened up for the first time about his most recent relationship. The hip-hop star started dating comedienne/actress Tiffany Haddish in 2019 after starring in movie "The Kitchen" but the pair called it quits after over a year of romance.

The rapper insisted it's not the love that fade away but their lack of efforts to continue nurturing their feelings that put an end to their relationship. "I don't think the love really dispersed. I think it was just like we weren't feeding the relationship," he told Hollywood Unlocked.

He admitted in the new interview he found it tough to keep their sparks alive while focusing on his career. "It was harder for me to balance all of that and keep the relationship fed," so he said.

But it wasn't just the rapper who was too busy, Tiffany apparently also had no time to give it her all. Common alluded to the issue in a previous interview. He said Tiffany was tired all the time because of her hectic schedule. She often fell asleep when they tried to spend quality time during quiet movie nights.

Despite the breakup, Common still admired his ex, "First of all, I want to say Tiffany, as you know, is for me, like, one of the best people I met in life. One of the best-hearted and most authentic and caring people that I met in life, and that's what made me love her and be in love with her her and want to be in a relationship with her and grow with her."

He called his relationship with Tiffany the most mature and healthy one he's ever had, "We had a real healthy and loving relationship. It was probably the most mature relationship I've been in. The communication, the respect, just all around, man."
